GEO Next Gen High School understands the value of providing a well-rounded athletic program to encourage and support our scholars in a team environment. It is part of our model that prepares our scholars academically as well as motivate and cultivate teamwork, togetherness and school pride. Athletics provide a foundation to build strength of character, determination and self-discipline–skills they will use throughout their lives.
Coach Michael Ingram is entering his 5th year as athletic director at GEO Next Generation High School. He is a native of Ruleville, Mississippi, but has resided in the Greater Baton Rouge area for the past 31 years. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Business Technology, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, an undergraduate Certificate in Sport Management, and current Louisiana teaching certificate (Business). He has embraced the challenge to create and implement a well-rounded athletic program. Under Coach Ingram’s leadership, GEO Next Generation High School became a member school of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) in 2022. We currently have the following extracurricular activities:
- Boys’ basketball
- Girls’ basketball
- Cross Country
- Track & Field
Several of our student-athletes participate in our dual enrollment program. GEO offers student-athletes the opportunity to earn college credits, free of charge, while attending high school. Academics first, then athletics. Athletics develop self-discipline, motivation, and leadership skills that students will need to succeed in building a prosperous life.
GEO Next Generation High School is the “SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE.”
